Sangita is a Ph.D. student. She joined the lab in June 2023 after completing her master’s degree at New Mexico State University. During her master’s, she screened the USDA peanut mini-core collection for resistance against stem rot disease caused by Athelia rolfsii under the guidance of Dr. Naveen Puppala. Her Ph.D. program is focused on studying the nutritional and antinutritional components of fresh lima beans and identifying related genes or QTL.
